Owen turned 1 so we celebrated with a milestone photo session at sunset at Magnuson Park. This is one of my favorite Seattle locations for Summer family photography sessions, as it offers wispy grasses, lake views, and easy access from the parking lot! I have a number of backgrounds within a relatively close area…making it easy for littles and parents.

This was a Petite Session (30 minutes) which works well for a family of 3 or 4. We get images of family together, kiddo portrait, and child with each parent. A typically gallery will be 75+ images. Over the years my brain, eye, and trigger finger have all learned how to sharp shoot, at the speed of toddler! We get a lot of variety, poses, and backgrounds in a half hour. Sunset is best for that pretty soft light. Even if it’s close to bedtime, I find most children are excited by a new location, and running outside. Just bring pajamas for the car ride home!
