Such a cutie! I recently did a maternity mini for this family and they decided a newborn session was needed too! We shot in my studio in downtown Seattle, near the stadiums. Studios don’t have to mean formal photography. I still shoot a lifestyle look-and-feel, with lots of candids and silly moments too. My goal is a gallery of beautiful baby portraits, but also lots of pictures that show the real beauty of your family, capturing life as it is now!
In addition to multiple baby set ups, we get family photos, portraits of siblings, baby with each parent, and each parent with all their kiddos.
I like a mix of look-at-the-camera photos, as well as lifestyle candid photography too.
We stop for feeding breaks as needed! There’s a comfy couch for nursing, a bed to change baby, and lots of places to drop your stuff!
Depending on how interested older kiddos are in the baby, I have three ways to photograph the sibling photo: holding baby, lying next to baby, or snuggled next to them on their bellies.
If toddlers need a wiggle break, we take it! The studio welcomes play and fun!
I provide white and grey blankets as backgrounds. Clients can bring onesies, swaddles, or any props (i.e. announcement signs) they want to include.
Dogs are welcome in the studio if they’re friendly and don’t have a history of aggression. I’m a dog person! This pup was so chill and snuggly. If your doggo is extra energetic, you might want to bring them to a family session later, when you’re not managing so much. Newborn sessions already demand so much of new parents, I’d recommend making this particular session type as easy as possible on yourselves.
